About Me: I did my undergrad at UC Berkeley in computer science (2011), then did a Master’s at UCLA (2016) focusing in ML/AI and computer vision. I currently work at Pinterest on the Visual Search team as a machine learning engineer, working on the entire ML stack including modeling, serving, and big-data pipelines. I recently moved to Fullerton, CA and am loving it! For fun, I enjoy playing music (piano, guitar, bass, vocals), video games, and pickleball.

Naveen Ashish

About Me: Naveen Ashish, currently Chief Scientist at Inferlink Corp., has been contributing to the field of data science for over two decades. At Inferlink, he leads a variety of innovative projects in applied AI and data science research and development. Prior to this, he was the founding head of data science at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center and held faculty positions in biomedical data science at USC and UC Irvine. He began his career as a Research Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center. Ashish was also the founder and Chief Data Scientist at Abzooba Inc., a health informatics startup (acquired by UST Global), and he recently founded Intellikgraph Consulting, a company focused on providing knowledge graph analytics solutions. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, with a focus on AI and in the days of the emerging “AI Spring”. Ashish is an avid hiker, an activity he is looking to further amplify with his very recent move to the East Bay with its proximity to some of the best hiking spots in the region.

About Me: I’m a second-year CS PhD student advised by Prof. Sergey Levine. Previously, I did my undergrad and Master’s at MIT, where I researched the use of language models for robot semantic scene understanding and TAed classes on robotics and natural language processing. My research is on the intersection of language, decision making, and making cool robots do cool things. In my free time, I enjoy playing games, archery, and making funky lil crochet animals.
